Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | Case history, behavioral audiometry on adults, earmold impressions, tympanograms, acoustic reflexes, otoacoustic emissions, basic hearing aid skills, basic report writing skills, basic counseling technique, understanding of electrophysiology |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | Behavioral testing in children and toddlers, patient counseling, real ear measurements, cochlear implant evaluations, mapping, and activations, hearing aid evaluations, hearing aid fittings, hearing aid follow up appointments, newborn hearing screenings, ABR under sedations |
