The 4th Year externship position will include the following: diagnostic audiograms/tymps/reflexes, etc. on both adults and children; hearing aid fittings (primarily adults); hearing aid counseling and follow-up. Our AuD students will learn VNG/ENG and be able to independently conduct these tests and write reports with supervision and guidance. You will learn how to properly diagnose and treat all forms of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo. Otoacoustic Emissions. We do occasional Baha fittings and follow-up. You will participate in marketing and community outreach events . If available, you will be invited to receive training from various hearing aid manufacturers.
We have a very strong hearing aid dispensing clinic. There will be plenty of opportunities to recommend and fit current technology. There will be daily hands-on experience with hearing aid repairs and follow-up as well. We fit mostly Phonak, Starkey and ReSound instruments. We also work with the VA Community Care Network.
We are seeking someone with interests in diagnostic/medical audiology (with a special desire to work with dizzy patients) and a passion to help treat hearing loss with amplification.
We have 6 audiologists, 5 ENT physicians and 1 Physician Assistant.
This position will involve time in both our Burlington location and our Mebane office. The offices are approximately 14 miles apart. All audiologists in both location hold their ASHA certification.

About Alamance Ear, Nose & Throat - Audiology Clinic
Alamance ENT is located in the heart of North Carolina in Burlington. We have a proud 37 year history of being the only ENT office serving Alamance County. Four physicians and four audiologists offer a full range of services for patients of all ages. We have a satellite location in Mebane as well. Our audiologists dispense the latest hearing aid technology as well as providing vestibular evaluations and canalith repositioning treatments.
