New Orleans Speech and Hearing Center (NOSHC) is a non-profit organization located in uptown New Orleans, Louisiana. Our Center serves ages birth through geriatric for audiology related services. The following services are offered at NOSHC: comprehensive diagnostic audiological testing, VRA, play audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, OAE testing, school screenings, auditory processing disorder testing, screening and diagnostic ABR, hearing aids, and real ear verification.
NOSHC is looking for a 4th year extern to fill our rotating externship position. This position is from June 2025-May 2026. We have had 4th year externs since 2009. We except our extern to have a willingness to learn and be part of our great team. The extern will receive a paid stipend and will be included in all local continuing education opportunities. The position includes 5 paid days off and 10 holidays. You can visit our website at www.noshc.org to learn more about our Center.
The extern will be expected to be competent in the area of diagnostic testing of adults. The extern will become proficient in testing children, including VRA and play audiometry. The extern should expect to leave the externship with a full knowledge of hearing aid dispensing, programming and counseling.
