2025-2026 4th year externship U.S. Army offers four 4th Year AuD Externship positions at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, MD, through a direct commission. (Accepting 3 year AuD program extern applicants too)
**** Requires a total 4-year commitment to the Army: 1 year externship at WRNMMC & 3 year follow-on assignment as US Army audiologist.
Students accepted into this externship position can expect a well-rounded externship experience with patients of all ages in the areas of: diagnostic audiology, amplification, evoked potentials, tinnitus assessment and management (individual and group), vestibular evaluations, auditory processing evaluations, cochlear implants, Bahas, hearing conservation, multi-disciplinary teams (TBI, dizziness and cranio-facial) and research. Army audiologist duties include: Army Hearing Program management (clinical services, hearing conservation, hearing readiness, and operational services), leadership and educational briefings (re: Army Hearing Program)
