For over 100 years, Northeast Hearing & Speech (NHS) continues to be a community-based nonprofit speech and hearing center located on the beautiful coastline in Portland, Maine. Our 15 SLPs and 2 Audiologists provide speech-language therapy and evaluations, audiological evaluations and dispense hearing aids. We are also partnered with a local state early intervention program so there are plenty of opportunities for inter-professional collaboration. Audiology services include diagnostic hearing evaluations for all ages, newborns to the most elderly, beginning with infants who have been referred following universal newborn hearing screening in the birthing hospitals.
