A well respected neurotology practice located in the desirable West End area of Richmond, VA is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 academic year to fill an externship position. This position provides a vast array of diagnostic testing for two renowned physicians in the Richmond area, primarily focusing on diseases of the ear and balance system with both pediatric and adult populations. This externship will provide you every opportunity to gain proficiency in nearly every area of audiology. Your main focus will be on building clinical skills in diagnostic testing to include: comprehensive hearing tests, hearing aid evaluations/fitting, OAEs, VNGs, ABR/ECochGs, oVEMPs, cVEMPs, ASSR, cochlear implants, bone anchored hearing devices, Epleys, and newborn hearing screening follow ups.

Requirements include the following: eligible for temporary licensure in the state of VA, completion of 3rd year of Au.D. program and in good academic standing, and the ability to work as a team member in a fast paced environment. Students must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills and organization skills.

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: We expect students to have a strong academic background and clinical exposure in a variety of areas.
