The Audiologist will provide diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitative audiological services to patients of all ages.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists in supervising student interns.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provides rehabilitative audiological services. Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops a treatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate.
Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies.
Communicates with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate.
Provides case management services and makes client referrals to other social or health service agencies.
Logs procedures and submits charges to the department secretary for submission to the billing department.
Writes evaluation reports and daily progress notes on a timely basis.
Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge in field of audiology. Prepares and presents in-service education to staff and the community.
Assists in implementing and monitoring the department’s quality assurance program.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Manual dexterity to calibrate equipment.
Ability to relate to individuals of all ages.
Above-average communication, language, and interpersonal skills.
Unimpaired or corrected hearing/listening skills.
Skill in preparing written patient evaluations.
Education and Experience:
Master’s degree or equivalent in audiology.
Current license or eligibility for licensing as an audiologist.
Certified or certification eligible by the American Speech and Hearing Association.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
