Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | - Otoscopy -Tympanometry -Standard comprehensive audiometric evaluation -Ear impressions and measure RECDs on a school age child
- Familiarity with real-ear measures, various amplification manufacturer software, VRA, CPA and electrophysiology assessments recommended but not required. |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | -Test selection based patient's age & ability -Masking for tones, speech and electrophysiology -Evaluation & verification for amplification -Evaluation of SSD and cochlear implant candidacy |
