Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | Comprehensive audiologic experience, including: o Full diagnostic evaluations for adult populations Hearing aid consultations, fittings, and follow-up care using best practices (including real-ear verification) Tinnitus evaluation and management Patient counseling, education, and long-term follow-up care One-on-one mentorship with experienced audiologists Exposure to a variety of manufacturers including Phonak, Oticon, Signia, and Starkey Insight into private practice operations and patient retention strategies Opportunity to develop confidence and clinical independence |
