The pediatric audiology externship will take place at Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida for the 2026-2027 school year. This externship will allow a motivated student the opportunity to provide audiological care to children from birth to 18 years of age.  The extern will have the opportunity to perform pediatric hearing evaluations (VRA, CPA, and conventional audiometry), ABR testing (sleep deprived and sedated), cochlear implant evaluations and programming, pediatric hearing aid and BAHS fittings, as well as cortical auditory evoked potential testing and pediatric vestibular evaluations.  This externship is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to expand their skills to become a confident pediatric audiologist.

Currently, we are a team of 8 audiologists and 4 support staff. This externship will be based out of the main hospital in Lake Nona but may require travel to one or more of our 5 satellite locations.  We are a multidisciplinary team, and we work closely with ENT's, plastic surgeons, social workers, psychologists, and auditory verbal therapists.  We also participate in a weekly Cleft/Craniofacial and Microtia clinics. 

We are looking for an extern with strong diagnostic skills, excellent interpersonal skills, a desire to work in a pediatric setting, and a willingness to learn.  Application process will follow the Audiology Clinical Education Network (ACEN) timeline.  Students interested in applying for this externship should submit the following documentation to Dr. Marek at susan.marek@nemours.org by September 17, 2025:
