Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | -Basic audiometry including air, bone, and speech testing -Immittance measurements -Otoacoustic Emissions -Basic ABR skills -Hearing aid fittings/verification -Hearing aid checks and troubleshooting -Effective report writing skills |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | -Master pediatric hearing evaluations of ages birth to 18 years of age, including VRA, CPA, and conventional audiometry -Master immittance and OAE measures -Ability to perform electrophysiologic testing and interpretation of results -Pediatric hearing aid selection/verification/fitting -Familiarity with cochlear implant candidacy requirements, evaluation, and programming -Appropriate counseling skills -Proficient report writing skills -Organizational skills |

Qualified candidates will then be invited on site for an in-person interview with our team. On site interviews will take place end of September through early October. |
