Audiologic Solutions Hearing and Wellness Center is seeking a motivated fourth year Doctor of Audiology student for the 2026 - 2027 school year. We are a private practice that currently has six doctors of audiology on staff with various credentials including CCC-A and CH-TM. We strive to provide a supportive learning environment and to give hands-on experience to future doctors of audiology.
Our Services:
- Comprehensive audiological evaluations (few pediatrics)
- Fitting and dispensing of hearing aids from a variety of manufactures using real-ear measurements/Verifit
- Tinnitus evaluations and management
- Cerumen management
- Musician plugs/custom hearing protection
- Cochlear Implant candidacy evaluation
- Cochlear implant rehabilitation
As a fourth year at our practice your responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive audiological evaluations including pure tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, OAE
- Interpreting audiometric results and provide an accurate diagnoses
- Developing personalized treatment plans
- Fitting and dispensing hearing aids from a variety of manufactures using real-ear measurements/Verefit
- Hearing aid repairs
- Dispensing/fitting hearing aid accessories/assistive listening devices
- Performing supervised Cerumen Management (instrumentation, irrigation, suction)
- Tinnitus evaluation and management
The Extern will likely start out observing. As confidence and independence builds, they will be given the opportunity to develop their own schedule.
We are particularly interested in fourth-year Au.D. students who have a strong interest in tinnitus evaluation and management. As our tinnitus program continues to grow, externs will have the opportunity to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in tinnitus assessment, counseling, and treatment, while working closely with experienced audiologists in a supportive learning environment. There is potential for full-time employment at the conclusion of the externship for a student who is a strong fit for our practice.
Your primary location will be the Rensselaer office with a few days at our satellite locations (Saratoga & Hudson). The work week will consist of Monday - Thursday: 8am-5pm & Fridays: 8am -2pm.
A stipend and vacation time will be offered with this externship position.
