For over 100 years, Northeast Hearing & Speech (NHS) continues to be a community-based nonprofit speech and hearing center located on the beautiful coastline in Portland, Maine. Our 15 SLPs and 2 Audiologists provide speech-language therapy and evaluations, audiological evaluations and dispense hearing aids. We are also partnered with a local state early intervention program so there are plenty of opportunities for inter-professional collaboration.

Audiology services include diagnostic hearing evaluations for all ages, newborns to the most elderly, beginning with infants who have been referred following universal newborn hearing screening in the birthing hospitals. Our diagnostic pediatric evaluations include unsedated ABR, OAE, VRA and conditioned play with a team of 2 audiologists for all children 0-3 and others with developmental differences. Both pediatric and adult clients are provided with diagnostic evaluations, hearing aid dispensing and assistive technology. Plus, you will gain knowledge about the practice management side of running a clinic.

• Successful completion of all required coursework in your Au.D. clinical doctorate program prior to your externship year
