Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship: | -Strong report writing skills -Master audiometric testing including masking rules -Ability to critically think about each case presented -Foundational knowledge in hearing aids, cochlear implants and bone anchored devices -Working knowledge on vestibular assessment and interpretation. |
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | -Proficient in report writing and electronic medical record keeping -Independently perform all diagnostic evaluations -Critical thinking about each case presented -Proficient in counseling, selection, and fitting of hearing aids, cochlear implants and bone anchored devices -Independently perform and interpret a full vestibular evaluation |
