Provide culturally competent care to diverse populations, including non-English speakers and underserved communities
Coordinate care for patients receiving financial assistance or navigating complex life circumstances
Participate in humanitarian outreach, including the option to join a service trip to Mexico
Conduct home visits for patients with mobility limitations
Support physician relationship-building and community marketing initiatives
Engage in outreach events and education within the broader Denver metro and rural eastern Colorado communities

Communication or other support do expected or required from the university during the externship: | We value open communication and collaborative support from the university throughout the externship year. We ask that a designated university supervisor be available for periodic check-ins, evaluations, and to provide guidance as needed. Clear expectations, timely feedback, and responsiveness to student or preceptor concerns help ensure a successful and supportive learning experience. We are happy to complete mid-year and final evaluations and welcome ongoing dialogue to promote the student's professional development. |
