Are you a motivated, well-rounded, and passionate audiology student eager to specialize in pediatrics? Nemours Children’s Health – Delaware Valley is now accepting applications for our Pediatric Audiology Externship, a full-time, immersive clinical training experience designed to develop future leaders in pediatric audiology.
Join a collaborative team of 14 diverse and experienced audiologists, each specializing across the full spectrum of pediatric audiology. As an extern at Nemours, you’ll gain hands-on experience working side-by-side with experts in audiology, ENT, speech-language pathology, psychology, nursing, anesthesiology, and social work as part of multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary care teams that put children and families at the center of everything we do.
Location:
Primarily based at our main hospital campus in Wilmington, DE, with opportunities to rotate through satellite clinics across Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.

Externs are expected to know basic audiometry and background information regarding amplification and electrophysiology. Externs are expected to be eager to learn, grow, and participate through our department.
Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:
Externs will have opportunities to master comprehensive audiometry from birth to 21 years of age, navigate/program varying hearing aids/cochlear implants/osseo-integrated devices, conduct central auditory processing/vestibular/electrophysiological evaluations.
Externs will also learn interpersonal skills and how to navigate through different multidisciplinary groups.
