DESCRIPTION: The doctoral extern will be responsible for administering and interpreting diagnostic and neuro diagnostic tests in addition to management of patients with vestibular related problems with provided clinical supervision
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligible for Extern year of Doctorate of Audiology (AuD).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Interest in audiological and balance evaluation and treatment
- Training and experience administering standard audiologic tests; including pure tone testing, speech audiometry, immittance (tympanometry, acoustic reflexes, tympanometry, otoacoustic emission (OAE), and speech perception testing).
- Training and experience with auditory evoked potentials (BAER, EcoG, VEMP testing) for determining degree and type of hearing loss and knowledge of how ear disease and hearing disorders influence evoked potential test results.
- Complete all relevant correspondence for referring specialists and organizations. Ensures appropriate clinical documentation and requirements are met.
- Ability to provide appropriate care based on the needs of the patient to include but not limited to age, developmental considerations and current medial conditions
- Ability to resolve conflicts that interfere with patient care or employment responsibilities in a constructive manner
