Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | Clinical Assessment Techniques: Proficiency in performing vestibular assessments, such as advanced neuro diagnostics/advanced rotatory chair, videonystagmography (VNG), vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (VEMP), video head impulse testing (VHIT), computerized posturography and more.
Patient Interaction: Skills in effectively communicating with patients, including explaining complex vestibular disorders and treatment options.
Diagnosis and Treatment Planning: Ability to interpret test results, diagnose vestibular disorders, and create individualized treatment plans.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Experience working with other healthcare professionals, such as otolaryngologists, physical therapists, and neurologists, for comprehensive patient care.
Counseling and Education: Skills in providing counseling to patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and rehabilitation strategies.
Research and Evidence-Based Practice: Engagement in research activities, including data collection and analysis, contributing to the field's body of knowledge.
Technology Utilization: Familiarity with the latest diagnostic and treatment technologies, including specialized equipment used in vestibular testing and rehabilitation.
Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Enhanced analytical skills for evaluating complex clinical cases and making informed decisions.
Documentation and Reporting: Skills in maintaining accurate patient records, writing reports, and documenting clinical findings.
