Middle Tennessee Hearing Aid Center is a privately-owned private practice in Columbia, TN . Our practice is currently seeking a 12 month full-time Au.D. Audiology externship or Audiologist who is passionate about improving patients’ lives through better hearing.

Job responsibilities include a full range of Audiology services including: comprehensive diagnostic hearing testing, VNG, canalith repositioning therapy, and other tests as needed for all populations. We provide amplification services including hearing aid assessment, dispensing, and real ear measurements for all populations.

Our private practice works in relation with the local ENT group of Middle Tennessee Ear, Nose, and Throat specialists. Prior experience with dispensing hearing aids, VNG, testing is preferred. The candidate must be licensed in Tennessee or in the process of being licensed.

The extern will receive a stipend

Externship site expects the extern to have mastered these skills before they begin their clinical externship:

Experience in audiological diagnostic testing (adult and pediatric) and Vestibular testing. This includes pure tone audiometry, masking, immittance testing, VRA/CPA, otoacoustic emissions, hearing aid repairs/modification, and hearing aid selection/fitting/programming. Along with experience of Vestibular testing is preferred.

Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship:

At the completion of the externship the student should be proficient in the following areas: Audiological diagnostic testing (adults and pediatrics), Hearing Aid selection, fitting, & programming. Along with VNG, canalith repositioning therapy, and ABR testing ability.
