Externship site expects the extern to learn/demonstrate these skills during their clinical externship: | Effective pediatric hearing evaluations of ages birth to 21 years of age; Ability to perform electrophysiologic testing and interpretation of results; Pediatric hearing aid selection/verification/fitting; Familiarity with cochlear implant candidacy requirements, evaluation, and programming; Equipment calibration checks; Appropriate counseling skills; Proficient report writing skills; Attend team/staff meetings; Organizational skills; Pediatric vestibular evaluations and interpretation. |

Research opportunities? | Yes The clinic is often involved in various research projects. Should the clinic be involved in active research during the 4th year externship, the applicant could be involved with tracking and organizing data. All research is physician directed and the audiologists conduct testing to support the research. |

Primary supervisor will meet with the student weekly for the first quarter (then monthly thereafter) of the fellowship to review progress and skills assessments. |
