The Audiology Department at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is part of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and offers comprehensive diagnostic testing and treatment for individuals across the lifespan. Our Winston Salem team includes 17 audiologists who are committed to providing quality, family-centered care and the use of best practices. We have three audiology locations that our externs have the opportunity to rotate through on a regular basis.
This is a vestibular focused externship. The vestibular lab operates five days per week and is staffed by three audiologists. The extern will be in the vestibular lab three days per week, with exposure to adult and pediatric audiology the other two days. The vestibular lab is a comprehensive clinic offering videonystagmography, rotational chair, skull vibration, multi–canal vHIT, ABR, as well as Ocular and Cervical VEMP. We perform canalith repositioning for all forms of BPPV. We work closely with three neuro-otologists and a staff of specialty trained Physician Assistants. There is a heavy educational component as we train residents, medical students, and physician assistant students.
